Wash and Wag Training Classes
Obedience Training is one of the best things you can do for your dog or puppy.. and yourself. Obedience training doesn't solve all behavior problems, but it is the foundation for solving just about any problem. Training opens up a line of communication between you and your dog. Effective communication is necessary to instruct your dog about what you want her to do. You can teach her anything from 'stay' (don't bolt out the door) to 'sit' (don't jump up on visitors) or to 'off' (stop what you're doing and move away or just leave-it).
The key to preventing or treating unwanted behaviors is learning to teach your dog to redirect his natural instinctive behaviors to outlets that are acceptable in our domestic setting.
All classes will utilize Positive Reinforcement training methods. We will only use dog-friendly, reward-based methods ... no force or punishment or any of the old-fashioned methods of jerking, pulling, or hurting your dog to make them comply.
Training in a positive way, using food rewards, toys and praise, leads to a better-trained, happier dog. Plus, you will build a loving and trusting relationship with your dog. You and your dog will enjoy training together because it's fun .. and that means you will train more often!
